About
Chipman Stables is family-owned and operated and was established in 1968. Billie was one of seven children raised on a family dairy farm in Vermont. At the age of 12, inspired by her uncle, Billie put a sign on the big maple tree in the family’s front yard advertising “Horses for Rent”. All four horses and a four-stall barn attached to a rental house on the farm was the beginning of a business that has expanded to three generations. 42+ years later, our business has grown and we are operating in a larger barn. We’ve built an indoor arena with many box stalls for boarding horses. Three daughters and seven grandchildren all play a role on the Ranch. Each one has their expertise in helping run Chipman Stables. The oldest daughter, Sarah is the main riding instructor.
