Chipman Stables is family owned and operated and was established in 1968. Billie was one of seven children raised on a family dairy farm in Vermont. At the age of 12, inspired by her uncle, Billie put a sign on the big maple tree in the family’s front yard advertising “Horses for Rent”. All of four horses and a four stall barn attached to a rental house on the farm, was the beginning of a business that has expanded to three generations. 42 years later, our business has grown and we are operating in a larger barn. We’ve built an indoor arena with many box stalls for boarding horses. Three daughters and seven grandchildren all play a roll on the Ranch. Each one has their expertise in helping run Chipman Stables. Oldest daughter, Sarah is the main riding instructor.
